Good to know that you are trying to accomplish a goal that few people ever tried.
To me I feel there are a few "must have" and "better have" requirements for the match
Must haves
1.Good refereed letter. You must have good reference letters from people from a renowned facility. A diplomats or a dr that have go thru the intern/resident process is a plus.
2. Of course in order to have good reference you better be a very good team worker with good knowledge base and good communication skills.

Better have
1. Good academic records
2. US license. Of course you need to accomplish ECFVG. Although many schools don't requires this but It will be a great plus if you have this.
3. Money. Although they pay you for your work. But it is still not enough for anyone
4. Green card or US citizenship or canada or Mexico citizenship. This allows you to work at many private hospitals.

Finally luck is extremely Needed no matter you have any of the aforementioned elements or not. So far i still have no luck. Let me know more about yourself and maybe i can give you moire advices,
